The Velcro Ruler...sounds like the name of a band. In actuality, we used to attach signs to rulers using velcro to give our oldest child visual cues (such as a stop sign for stop, a green thumbs up for go or ok, etc). We don't use them anymore, but we still have the rulers around the house.
