I'm annoyed that both of them seem to have chromatic aberration going on. Wonder why...I used my Canon lenses. I expect that with my Quanterey lens, but I've not seen it with my Canons. I wonder if it has something to do with the glaring white of the snow against somewhat low(ish) light?

Interesting photos. Glad you have fun with the snow.
I'm not sure if that is chromatic aberration. I'd have to see the large photos. Usually there is a pronounced green-blue on the edges of white.
I do see a flat blown out effect that softens the photo. White is hard, just as is black. You need some sort of side and back lighting to pop this out. Given the short DOF on the stick, you probably have a focus problem too.
The bottom line is if there is chromatic aberration, it's minor comparted to the lighting and focus.
